CBC Book Club

Why a book club?  Because we invariably talk about the books that we read at coffee and a few of us thought this would be a good idea, and why not!  We meet every 6 weeks at The Ship in Christchurch.

The next meeting is the 4th of July

Everyone welcome, but hopefully with an interest in books and happy to talk about what you are reading, favourite books, and ideas for a common book to read. Contact Christine Ratcliffe for more information.

CBC Members Recommendations is a list of the books which members have talked about and recommended. They have hyperlinks to Amazon so that you can click on the title and find out a little more about them. There’s a mixture of crime fiction, funny odd books, classics and biographies.

The book currently being read is None of this is True by Lisa Jewell.

We recommend

  • Politics on the Edge by Rory Stewart
  • The latest Amor Towles, Table for Two, which is a selection of short stories
  • White Teeth by Zadie Smith

We have had a lot of books kindly donated  to the Club and I have taken photos of the books as the easiest way of capturing all the titles. Not a perfect method but the easiest!

If you would like to take one, two, several or lots please email Barry Rossell who I am sure would be delighted to hear from you.
