If weather conditions are poor at the advertised start time for a ride, the ride leader may elect to start the ride 1 hour later (e.g. 10:30) if conditions have improved sufficiently.
Please check with whoever is likely to be leading the ride under either of these circumstances.
If you have not ridden for a while you will have lost some fitness. Although rides go at the pace of the slowest rider, please be considerate to the regular riders by choosing a sensible ride distance in suitable conditions to start again. You can always just ride to coffee or choose one of the other rides to get your fitness back up.

2012 Tuesday Rides
are a little less demanding than the Thursday rides.
They are run at a gentler pace and are usually a little shorter in distance.
These rides are also ideal if you want to build up your fitness before attempting the Thursday rides,

Shorter rides starting from Coffee stop. If you want to do a shorter ride, then there are many options to bring your bike to the coffee stop and join us for the ride back to afternoon tea stop. Mileages in brackets indicate the approximate distance of these shorter rides.

Saturday Morning Road Ride (all year)
CBC's Saturday Morning Group Ride will start at 8.45 am from Waitrose Car Park and at 9.00 am from The Oak Inn, Our ride will wait at 'The Oak Inn' in This ride takes about 3 hours including the coffee stop. It is a 20 mile round trip from Waitrose at In heavy rain or bad weather rides may be cancelled or abandoned at short notice. Please contact me for further information: patricia.whiffen@talktalk.net 01425 270952 0771 441 8691 The Route Group Bike Ride to Burley (3hrs incl coffee stop) - A slower paced 'on-road' group ride starting before the faster main CTC Saturday Ride (so watch out for faster riders going by) and going in an anti-clockwise direction to the 'New Forest Witches' village of Burley. We will be having coffee at "the Old Farmhouse" cafe in Burley with the masin CTC ride Outward route: Up through Godwinscroft to South Holmsley and down Thorney Hill to Burley for coffee at the 'Old Farmhouse Tea Rooms'. 2012 Saturday Morning Offroad Ride The ride will start from Burton Green at 09:00 every other Saturday following the route below. This ride will be in addition to the CBC Saturday Morning Road Ride. The fortnightly dates are as follows: TBA
Those members (or guests) wishing to take part should ride a suitable mount. The Route Trekking Bike Ride to Holmsley
or: 9.00 am at The Oak Inn,
Return route: Forest Road to Burley Street, down Charles Lane (or Crow Lane) and back to Waitrose via North Ripley, Sopley snd Burton.
A mountain bike or trekking bike with robust wheels and tyres would be most suitable.
A road bike with lightweight tyres is not suitable.
You might get away with a touring bicycle with touring wheels and robust tyres (28mm +).
2012 Public Holiday Rides & Special Rides TBA
Rides will be arranged for Public Holidays in 2012.
There will also be some special rides arranged (e.g. CBC Anniversary Ride, Six Ferries ride).

Adverse weather conditions such as gale force winds, rain, fog, ice or snow can seriously compromise ride enjoyment and group safety. Rides may be abandoned, re-routed or cancelled at short notice.

Tuesday Evening Rides 2010
Will start again on 17th April 2012
Every Tuesday at 19:00 (until the end of August)
Meet in Sainsbury's (Christchurch by-pass) car park east corner (opposite the Shell garage) for various routes of 15 to 25 miles / 1 to 2 hours
The pace/ distance/ duration of the ride will be dependent upon availabilty of light over the summer but in any case will be to suit whoever turns up on the evening.
I may not always be able to lead the ride and I will be looking for volunteers!
Please bring lights just in case of any unforseen delay on the ride.
If it is raining hard or very windy please call me (Stephen Gray on 07710 201358) to check if the ride is going ahead.
Wednesday Informal Ride 2009

Jim Hatton invites any member who would like to join him on an informal ride each Wednesday to call him beforehand on 01425 280889 to arrange a start time and meeting point.
Anniversary Ride
